NC County Lead

 

Position Overview

Woke Vote County Lead is a vital part of Woke Vote and functions as the statewide Faith coordinator of the program. The Woke Vote County Lead is connected to communities and organizations throughout the state. This role will be responsible for finding contacts and volunteers at organizations in target areas. The County Lead must be able to work independently as well as interdependently with the team to advance the program’s mission, goals, and objectives. The position is responsible for the implementation of voter registration programs and events at organizations throughout your assigned county. 


Duties & Responsibilities

Under direction of the Woke Vote State County Lead, the primary responsibilities are: 

  • Support Woke Vote programs and events that promote voter education, voter registration, absentee ballots, early voting (where applicable), and commitments to vote

  • Liaison with Woke Vote leadership to procure funding and logistical support.

  • Disseminate information on events, important voting deadlines, and general election information to the faith community

  • Recruit and train volunteers

  • Create relationships with key community stakeholders, organizations and other community leaders.

  • Identify non-partisan, non-bias events to disseminate Woke Vote information.

  • Create a statewide calendar of events for the faith community

    Minimum Requirements

  • Commitment to Woke Vote’s mission, social justice and black liberation.

  • Personal qualities include energy, enthusiasm, motivation, commitment, integrity, humor, a positive attitude, and the ability to motivate and listen to others.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience. 2-3 years experience with civic and voter engagement strategies.

  • Possess strong interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills.

  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of service-learning, civic engagement, and talent development.Ability to collect and analyze data for planning and reporting purposes.

  • Ability to travel.Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments.


    Location & Duration

  • We will be hiring County Leads for each of the following NC Counties:

    • Pitt County

    • Nash County

    • Wilson County

    • Lenoir County

    • Halifax County

    • Edgecombe County

*All NC residents eligible, if willing to travel to neighboring county areas.

$3,000/month
