Data Banker and Technology Strategist (Virtual)

Woke Vote is hiring several Data Banker & Technology Strategists to join our team.
Woke Vote is a voter engagement program committed to engaging people of color. The primary objective is to mobilize historically disadvantaged people of color into a culture of civic participation. The plan is to identify and develop key partnerships within target states in an effort to turn out unprecedented numbers of Black and brown constituents and raise awareness surrounding issues that directly impact the underserved and underrepresented through innovative programming and campaigns. The outcome is the movement of key communities to advance the cause for equity and justice.
The goal is to invest in the activation, long-term engagement, training and development of new organizers, and mobilization of historically disadvantaged groups. We aim to engage registered voters in a multifaceted approach that includes: strategic social media outreach, impactful campus, and faith-based outreach, social impact demonstrations, and intense mobilization (GOTV) efforts.
In the digital role, you can expect to do the following:
Provide technical services to our team
Offer thoughtful and speedy data and technology support to program coordinators and program leadership
Facilitate conversations on both traditional and more experimental methodologies for turnout, digital organizing, persuasion, and/or advertising
Use SQL to manipulate, analyze, and support members in understanding and reporting to program leadership
Train members on the strategic use of the voter file and other member data sets
QUALIFICATIONS
A successful Data Banker & Technology Strategist will have:
Dedication to our members and furthering their reach and impact, along with broader progressive issues and campaigns
Basic SQL skills
A desire to continuously learn new things
Experience interacting with and analyzing the voter file, census data and/or another large dataset
Project management experience, including delegation, managing up and managing expectations for themselves and projects
Able to communicate and collaborate within a team, other departments, as well as, vendors, partners, etc.
Comfort communicating via remote work tools like Slack and Zoom
Passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion and a commitment to incorporating these values into your everyday work
A successful Data and Technology Strategist:
Has at least 1-3 years of data experience
Demonstrated management experience, ideally in direct management of staff
At least 3 of the listed additional skills below:

Experience working on campaigns, electorally-focused, or advocacy organizations, with at least one full cycle in a data-related role
Experience with data visualization
Moderate or better SQL ability
Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
Experience training others on technical tools
Experience working with APIs, HTTP or data syncs
Experience with NGP VAN, ActionKit, ActionNetwork or other commonly used progressive tools as a user and/or an administrator

Countrywide virtual position - but priority is given to those living in North Carolina. Including:

Compensation
$15 - $20 per hour / depending on experience
